Coaster Card

I've tried so hard to reign myself in on spending in the Stampin' Up spring mini, and it's getting hard to keep that effort going! I was at Jeanine's this weekend for some stamping time, and she let me use both her Doodle This set and some of her Au Chocolat designer paper to cover one of her square coasters. Sigh. After that, I had to place an order because I just liked the stamps and paper SO MUCH.

I had designed the coaster piece while I was there, and although I loved how it turned out, I wasn't at all sure what to do with it! I was pretty sure it would be tacked to my bulletin board to languish other than just being admired once in a while. However, on Monday night I was playing in my stamp room, and I decided to try something different! This is what I came up with. The first shot is of how it looks with the notecard inserted and the second is of the card and pocket side by side.

I stamped the big flower twice and then cut them out and layered them so they overlapped. I glued them together so they wouldn't spin and get out of order then I placed the pink brad through them. Then I punched out Chocolate Chip circles with both the Giga and Mega scallop punches, then a Vanilla piece with the Mega and a Regal Rose piece with the Giga. These are layered one on top of the other with the colors alternating so you see just a bit of the Regal Rose and Vanilla pieces.

Stamps: Doodle This (SU spring mini)
Paper: Au Chocolat (SU spring mini), Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Regal Rose
Ink: white gel pen, Choc. Chip. marker, Regal Rose
Accessories: Pink brad (unknown source), pearl brad (unknown source), Giga and mega scallops, 1 1/4" SU circle punch, Rose Ribbon (SU), Striped ribbon (Michael's)

Melissa, that looks gorgeous! I am glad you gave in and ordered from the Spring mini. Resitance is futile with this catalog. Everything is just too pretty!
