Easter Chicks

Last year, Ky and I were in Miles City, Montana, around Easter time. All of our various nephews and our niece on Ky's side of the family were there and in between some of the events, they ended up at the hardware store with their parents. I was off running an errand with my MIL so I didn't get to see them, but they came back with VERY excited reports of chicks that had been dyed in Easter pastel colors. Just the story of those springtime chicks was enough to be an Easter gift bag inspiration for me.

The chicks were stamped and masked, then the "grass" was sponged on and finally, the chicks were watercolored with my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Aqua Painter in So Saffron, Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise and a couple of Bravo Burgundy chicks thrown in for good measure. Each of the watercolor choices were made from colors in the designer paper.

Have a GREAT Friday!

Paper: Mini gift bag (3.5 x 5), Petals & Paisley SU designer paper, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Certainly Celery
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Black Stazon, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Rounded Tab Punch, Large Oval Punch, White Organdy Ribbon, Sponge, Aqua Painter

Very cute project - I really like the contrast of the horizontal and vertical stripes along the bottom. And I can't believe there's another stamper who actually knows where Miles City is! (My Mom was born and raised in Glendive)

Such a cute bag!! I remember the colored chicks from when my girls were young. They were so cute, altho I don't believe in giving baby chicks and bunnies to children unless they are going to a farm. Sorry if I sound like a wet blanket, but I still love your card.

I do appreciate the nice commments and just to clarify, if someone in Miles City bought the colored chicks mentioned in my post, in all likelihood, they would be incorporated into an existing flock (group, batch, roost?) of chickens. Miles City, Montana, is a small-ish rural community.

I too agree that animals shouldn't be given as gifts just because they're cute.
